BIO
Maclayne is a Calgary-based independent singer-songwriter whose music is as prolifically hooky as it is bold and honest. Often likened to Sara Bareilles and Regina Spektor, her dynamic folk-pop sound blends powerful, heartfelt storytelling with melodies that stick with you long after the song ends.
With the release of her debut album Off The Deep End (Nov 2024), Maclayne garnered features on CBC Radio One in Calgary and Edmonton, placed in the top 10 charts of multiple campus stations nationally, and was recently featured in the Calgary Herald and The Guardian. Her travels, which shaped the soulful and introspective nature of her album, also allowed her to bring her live show to vibrant festivals, house concerts, intimate small venues, and as a supporting act for jed + the valentine, Apollo Suns, Rumour Mill, Big Little Lions and more on stages across Western Canada in 2024. Most recently, she capped off an Alberta-wide tour by selling out her first-ever headlining show in Calgary (Nov 2024). A young storyteller with a unique ability to truly engage an audience in any room she graces, Maclayne is well on her way toward a thriving career as a songwriter and performer.
