About
Calgary based folk-pop independent artist, writing from the heart.
Maclayne is a singer-songwriter from Calgary with a sound often compared to Regina Spektor and Sara Bareilles. Her particular brand of folk pop is quirky, theatrical, and honest, reflecting real lived experiences. With a powerful ability to connect with audiences, Maclayne accompanies herself on piano, guitar, or ukulele while weaving a story together throughout her set. Her singles "sing", “out of the city” and “if you let go” (summer 2023) received airplay from CKUA, CBC, and campus radio. One additional single is planned leading up to the release of her debut EP, Off The Deep End (summer 2024). In September 2023, Maclayne was one of ten Canadian artists invited to participate in Canada's Music Incubator, where she developed her artistry and industry knowledge alongside professionals for six weeks.
