The band includes guitarist Jay Martinez, lead vocalist Mitchell Grieg and keyboard/pianist Jordan (J.Jacob) Christopher-Shah. These three friends got their start as a band back in 2016, covering artists like Prince and Stevie Wonder. In 2019, Legacy began developing their own original music, following the development of their own studio and production work. Since then, Legacy has released over 15 tracks independently. Their projects include their first studio album "MOMENTS (A Love Story from 1984.)" leading to their nomination for the 'Prophets of Music, Emerging Artists Award' at the 2023 YYCMAs; several singles including their most recent disco-inspired song "RGB (Real Good Beat)"; and an AMPIA Award nominated music video "Now In Colour", developed with director Justice Christopher-Shah. Through their retro-inspired sounds, instrumental and musical ability and combination of both classic and modern production, Legacy has been able to appeal to a wide range of audiences. The combined talents of Legacy's members allows for these projects to be completely self-produced, also allowing them great flexibility to handle different styles, arrangements, genres and scales for performances and events.
