Part of simplifying the selection process comes from the artist. You make it easier for venues when:
- You have video content to watch from your profile.
- You have samples of your music on your profile.
- Your profile exudes professionalism.
When it comes to venues considering your act, we want to make it easy for them to assess what you’re offering. Live video footage of a recent or fairly recent public performance goes a long way. Music videos will also help, even if you produced one on a DIY budget.
Let’s face it, your profile is your CV. If you want the gig, you’re going to have to convince them. You need to stand out from the other applicants, often in front of staff who don’t deal with music as their full-time job. If they click on a link and it’s broken, it’s almost a certainty they’ll say “Next,” and move on to another applicant. As the saying goes, you only get one chance to make a first impression.
At Stagehand we believe good music is good business. With so much good music out there, we are committed to bringing it closer to businesses and businesses closer to artists.
If you request to be involved with a venue or event, please make sure your artist profile is informative, complete and up-to-date.
Good gigs,
Dan
