parallel is an indie rock/singer-songwriter artist that surrounds himself with warm, intimate, and dreamy tones; his sounds are sometimes described as beautifully ethereal.
DO YOU BELIEVE IN ANGELS?
From Calgary, Canada (now living in Montréal), parallel began producing in 2019 and playing piano in 2010. Picking up skills from different fields, he produces, records, sings, and edits every single thing himself. His aesthetic gravitates towards warm, intimate, and sometimes melancholic feelings. Just having a makeshift bedroom studio was enough to craft many personal projects and singles that range from indie rock to lo-fi hip-hop. parallel is heavily inspired by the warm and intimate sounds of Mac DeMarco, Nujabes, King Krule, and Dominic Fike.
His release forgive has made it to FM radio, being played for 4 weeks in a row.
He has also collaborated with Slovakian singer/songwriter URGES (signed by START TRACK), releasing a single PAGES in September, gaining attention from radio stations and music blogs.
The ethereal and lo-fi Pitcher Plant came out in January, supported by a single that grew to some popularity on YouTube, in 10 years do you think you'll still talk to me?. The song nectar was supported with an appreciative and beautiful music video as well on YouTube.
parallel's EP A LONGER "SEE YOU LATER", are 3 tracks that range from Nujabes-inspired hip-hop to warm indie rock.
parallel's most recent album "I BELIEVE IN ANGELS" is a beautiful blend of indie rock, shoe gaze, sample-based hip-hop, and bedroom pop.
