About
Humble Humans a.k.a. Jonathan Meur writes and performs luminous, upbeat folk-pop music, both his own and covers, on guitar and keys
Humble Humans sing the world through a luminous kind of music, in turn introspective and upbeat, always poetic, sometimes political, anchored by “smooth vocals and rich, warm instrumentations” (Buro 24/7 Singapore). The voice belongs to queer French-Mauritian singer-songwriter Jonathan Meur who grew up in Mauritius Island, spent 15 years in Singapore and is now based in France. These rich life experiences have inspired an eclectic collection of original songs (singles, EPs, an album) and a soundtrack. Having drawn comparisons to Sufjan Stevens, Regina Spektor and Kings of Convenience, Jonathan has performed in Southeast Asia, Australia, France, the Czech Republic, London, New York - and he now hopes to discover Alberta through performances while he is based in Edmonton from August to December 2024!
