Jason Clarke is a Calgary-based upright and electric bassist, focusing on jazz, pop, rock, funk, and country music. He began playing gigs in Vancouver at a young age, and upon high-school graduation studied jazz performance at Capilano University. He was a regular in the Vancouver jazz scene for years playing pick-up gigs, as well as having been a full-time member of bands in genres ranging from jazz duos and trios to big bands, pop-rock, and folk-rock. He has played in international jazz festivals in Vancouver and Regina, and venues from intimate shows to 3,000-seat halls all over Western Canada.
