Simone is a local musician, born and raised in Calgary, AB. She has immersed herself in the Calgary music scene for many years, playing with the JazzYYC Youth Lab Band, the Calgary Youth Jazz Orchestra, and jamming at Kawa Espresso Bar & the Blues Can. In the past year, Simone recorded saxophone and background vocals on Rome IX’s debut album at the infamous OCL Studios in Chestermere, and with Natural Twenty at Public Lunch Studio in Calgary for their second EP. Most recently, Simone hosted her first weekly jam at Kawa Espresso Bar for JazzYYC’s International Jazz Days Festival. She has formed her own trio in the past year, featuring some of the best young up-and-coming musicians around town. Simone’s groups are guaranteed to provide new and exciting spins on jazz, funk, pop, and r&b, leaving you feeling fresh and invigorated for the rest of your day.
